1. Read 13 quotes from Steve Jobs about computers and death.
“Being the richest man in the cemetery doesn’t matter to me … Going to bed at night saying we’ve done something wonderful… that’s what matters to me.”

Web project management breakdown
Monday, August 15th, 2011
Planning a website re-design or new website is half the job done. Getting the outline of the project right, together with allocating enough time plus some buffer time will help you if and when the shit-hits-the-fan. This is the key points you need to consider and think about, from a website production point of view.
Note, if you are hiring a agency or a freelancer to do the work for your company, then you will be adding tremendous value to the project if you got your head around the points marked with a star (*). It will help if you share your online marketing strategy and educate the agency/freelancer about your company profile and values before they start their research and analysis.
My breakdown consist of four main headings; research & analysis, planning, production and afterthoughts.
Research & analysis
competitor analysis*
target audience – how do the company want to engage with them, what is the call to action when visiting the website, who should the website be built for. Create different visitor profiles helps you with this.*
define message/service values/unique selling points*
functionality requirements*
SEO requirements*
Planning
determination of progress points
deadlines for wireframes, design, development, content origination, testing,
write specification for project
write project plan
allocate resources and tasks
online marketing – links for PPC campaigns, link building etc, make sure this is considered!
Production phases
Wireframing & sitemap
Design
Development
Content origination/add content to website
Testing and applying solutions to any issues
Training of client in any new CMS system and how the website works
Delivery and go live
Afterthoughts
Internal evaluation and get feedback from client
Make sure any lessons are learned and implement this for your next project
